Got to Dubai at 7.45 am on 3rd June. I'm already two days late for my internship and by the looks of thing, I won't be in office until the 7th or 8th. The layover is 24 hours=misery. To add insult to injury, it turns out the travel agency did not book a hotel for me to stay in. Emirates doesn't provide accommodation either so I'm in a fix. I've been thinking about camping out in the terminal for the entire period. There's a lot going on so I shouldn't be bored for a while. There's a hotel within the terminal so I might check that out too in case I'm overwhelmed by fatigue...highly unlikely.
I met a couple of Kenyans here today which was really nice. Kenyans in the diaspora, trying to earn a living.

Departure
9 months later, I answer to the call of the mother land. The land has been prepared, manure has been made and the rains are upon us. The seeds are with us as is the responsibility to plant them, nurture the seedlings and watch them grow into mature and fruitful trees.
2nd June 2009, the day of my departure from Yale University at 6.45 am. The first step in a journey that will hopefully impact on the lives of many.
This blog, a record of my experiences from my departure to the day I return.
